Smart India, where citizens don’t have to stand in a queue and wait to get services from the government, where citizen lives in a smart society to make lives hassle free, which has entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, where people and devices are connected, is not a fiction anymore. To make this a true story government of India has come up with its two flagship programmes – Digital India and Smart Cities. For the transparent and responsive government and to create digitally empowered economy, the government has announced Digital India which envisions to create digital infrastructure as a core utility to every citizen, offering government services on demand, and to create digitally empowered citizens and reaching out to peripheries. Similarly, to make cities livable and citizen friendly, government has announced the development of 100 Smart cities.
